Outdoor Spring Tablescape
The weather has been absolutely beautiful here in Oregon, so for this week’s tablescape by request, I decided to go with a request for an outdoor spring tablescape. The request, submitted by a customer named Bev, called for a tablescape featuring a green and white checkered tablecloth with an emphasis on keeping it casual yet beautiful. She left the choice of the napkins and centerpiece to us, and this proved to be the most difficult part of the design process. What on earth goes well with green?
I felt green and red would be too holiday-ish, and green and purple would be too…Barney the dinosaur. I’ve seen a lot of DIY centerpieces using lemon, orange, or cucumber slices on Pinterest, so I decided to make a centerpiece with lemon slices and pair it with our new 20 in. gold napkins. I think the lemons and the sunflowers in votives worked well with the gold linen. Do you?
So, funny story about this shoot: right across the way from LinenTablecloth’s corporate office is a creek which divides our parking lot from a local resident. I saw that our neighbor had a nice picnic table in her beautiful backyard, so I knocked on her door and asked if we could set up a shoot in her backyard. We ended up making friends with our neighbor, who turned out to be super nice, along with her lovely (and lazy) cats! Hence, we have her to thank for the images from this shoot.
Although Bev specifically asked to keep it casual, I think porcelain works so well on a checkered tablecloth. The brightness of the china complements the white in the checkered pattern very well. This outdoor spring tablescape was one of the best shoots yet considering the beautiful weather and new friend(s). I hope you like our inspiration tablescape, Bev!
