The 4th of July isn’t the only patriotic holiday filled with red and white everything. Canada Day is July 1! We put together a quick and easy, kid friendly DIY to celebrate the holiday!
Red construction paper
Maple leaf template
Mod Podge or glue
Step 1: Find a template online of a maple leaf that you like. There are many places to find free ones. We chose a simple design that would be easy for little hands to cut out. Print the leaf in small and medium sizes. You will need one medium sized leaf for the center of the canvas and eight small leaves for the border.
Step 2: Cut out the template and trace it onto the red construction paper. Cut out the leaves and arrange them on the canvas.
Step 3: Place four small maple leaves along each vertical border of the canvas. Then place your medium sized leaf in the center. Once you are satisfied with the placement, glue the pieces down.
Step 4: Hang up your project and enjoy your new Canadian flag inspired decoration! Use for Canada day or year round to show your pride!
