Our Ice Cream Social tablescape was a big hit so we put together step by step instructions for two of our favorite projects!
Tissue Paper Pom Pom Ice Cream Cones
Tissue Paper pom poms
Brown Construction paper
Step 1: Decide on the color scheme for your ice cream cones. The colors of our party were pastels pinks so we went with varying shades of pink for our cones.
Step 2: Starting at the top left piece of your construction paper, draw a semi-circle that reaches all the way to the bottom right corner of the paper. Cut along the semi-circle to remove the top right corner from your paper.
Step 3: Turn your paper sideways until the top left corner becomes the bottom left. Starting with the bottom left corner begin rolling your paper to form a cone. Roll tightly to form a small cone or roll more loosely for a larger cone. We made cones of both sizes to fit our pom poms. There is a small section of paper left to wrap around the bottom of the cone. Discreetly secure your cone with tape at the seams.
Step 4: Unfold the tissue paper pom poms. Focus on the top of the pom pom looking full; the bottom is tucked away and unseen. Once the pom is unfolded, secure it to the top of the cone with tape. Feel free to use poms of varying sizes and colors. We used two pom poms on the smaller cones for an extra fun look. Add a saying to dress them up even further!
Ice Cream Bar Paint Samples
Paint Chips of Various Colors
Step 1: Trace a rounded bar shape onto your paint sample card. We made two fit on one sheet by making the bars different sizes. This also adds visual interest to your project!
Step 2: Position your popsicle stick on the back of the ice cream bar. Secure the stick in place with tape when you have it where you want it. We added a fun caption and used it as a focal point for our centerpiece. These would also make a fantastic banner! That’s it! Super quick and simple DIY that is bound to make an impression on your guests!
