Chair Covers: Style Ideas

Style Ideas for Chair Covers & Chair Sashes

Chair covers are a great way to cover up those old, dusty banquet and folding chairs. There’s nothing worse than setting up a beautiful event, only to see dents, scratches, and stains on all the seats for your guests. A chair cover looks a million times better than bare chairs, AND prevents your guests from sitting on a gross cushion–and who wants that? From the simplistic to profoundly complex, there are a ton of ways to dress up your chairs to make them unique to your wedding or event.

As pictured above, ribbon makes perfect adornments for your chairs. For this look, all you have to do is cut similar lengths of ribbon and wrap each piece around the head of the chair just enough to be able to glue or tape the ends together. Using ribbon of various fabrics like satin, organza, burlap, and lace ribbons will add depth to the look. Also, this is a great opportunity to broaden your color palette and add the subtle, complementary colors to your event that might otherwise be lacking.

If bling is your thing, try embellishing your chair sashes with diamond wrap. The crystal mesh material shines brightly and offers a high drama look for your event. I could definitely see this chair flair used for a Hollywood Glam wedding!

A simple object like the brooch shown above can have a huge visual impact on the presentation of your chairs. A brooch is perfect because it can be easily clipped to the sash, but boutonnieres and elegant pins could work too.

Items that convey the theme of your event is a perfect detail to enhance your chairs. Are you into the parasol craze? If so, these cute cocktail umbrellas would complement your event chairs perfectly!

Similar to the cocktail umbrellas, the pinecone above translates the Christmas theme directly to the chair. A little is enough to make a huge impact!
